She's Falling (music and lyrics by Ian Revell)

Up at my window late at night
I would stand and wait for her light
The only muse I could see
I knew her heart burned the brightest for me
And so for days, and weeks, I watched her rise
All the way up, to be Queen of my skies
But then the time came when I finally saw her arc
And I knew that I'd soon be lost in the dark

she’s falling

I was like a man obsessed
Every time she put her luck to the test
My compulsion grew so great
I would stay up all night to watch her tempt the fates
She had so much beauty, so much grace
But her light burned from a darker place
And though I had to follow her, when she went astray
It left me out in the cold and praying for the day

she’s falling
it won’t be long, get a good look before she’s gone
she’s falling
it won’t be long, better make a wish boys, 'cause soon she'll be gone

white trail across the sky
she had us mesmerized
white trail across the sky
she burned into my eyes

Wish I could catch her, put her feet back on the ground
So many ways to fly but only one way down

All of them around her just wanna see how far she’ll go
Where are her true friends, the ones that wanna watch her grow?

I tried to help her, felt the fire and pulled away
She was too hot to touch in every single way

And if I find her someday, fallen down to earth and turned to coal
I’d give up my last breath to watch her embers glow

Older now, my lessons learned
I drink at night while the planet turns
Back at my window, I strain my eyes
I watch and wait for a new star to rise
I watch and wait for a new star to rise
I watch and wait for a new star to rise
I watch and wait for a new star to rise
I watch and wait for the new flesh to rise
